NYSC Experience Kicks Off πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

Ok...
I'm supposed to have done this earlier. Like, way earlier, but then... I really shouldn't use procrastination as an excuse again right? It's clichΓ©. Trust me, ion have no excuse.
Errr, I'll love to share my NYSC camping experience, yayyyyy! (Well, maybe a bit of the fullblown NYSC tho, since this is coming much later after camp. All the experiences have kind of intertwined). NYSC is the Nigerian Youth Service Corp, a scheme that came to life in May 1973 by the Gen. Yakubu Gowon, to include Nigerian graduates in the process of developing the Nigerian nation and it lasts for a one year period. (Errm, you can read up on NYSC for more info, so we save time πŸ€—πŸ€— Thanks lovelies).

Well, it all started on the 2nd of November, around 1am thereabout (it was my birthday, so how could I possibly forget 😎). So, this' how the NYSC thing works, you register (say 2/3weeks earlier, after which you'll be mobilized to serve the country in one of the 36 states that make up the Nigerian nation, including the Federal Capital Territory. The Federal Government decides for you).
While some were pulling strings so they don't get posted to a state that's too far from home or to the 'happening states' of the country, your 'yours truly' (I mean me of course πŸ’›πŸ’›) was hoping on God for the best, so... (I'll not bore you with much of that tho. Yeah, I'm nice πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‘)

Eventually, posting letter came our and I was posted to the Northern part of the country 😲😲 Momma was shocked, thought I was playing pranks on her. This place is forever away from home with some funny stories attached (I'm not telling πŸ˜›). Well, since I haven't gotten the needed stuffs for camp ( camp is a 3weeks of training which sets off the whole NYSC thingy), I had to get set  in a really short time (camp was to commence on the 5th, I got my posting on the 2nd, and my mobilized state is a 2-3 day journey from home, by road of course), so I had almost no time to get ready... You needed to see me stressed and unkempt on my birthday πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺ Wasn't fair. Plus, the rains beat me on this same blessed day (see my love for my country being proved. Anyway, there's no arguments, y'all know your baby girl is a number one patriot 😌😊😊)

Long story cut short, miracle broke forth, big bro got my flight ticket πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ I still can't thank him enough, eternally grateful (especially after hearing of others' road trip experience, my Father Lord God!!!) So, I flew 😊😊 (Secret? Me to you... It was my first time on air. Lol. And I was secretly anticipating the 'tummy churning' flight experience, but my tummy wouldn't turn. Stubborn thing 😏)

So, the journey began, 1hr 15mimutes flight and another 3hours on road and we are at camp site (yeah, there was still the road part. The state I was going to has no airport, so I had to go by road from the closest one). And it was on this 3hour journey this idea kicked off; 'why not have a chat time with my people here, just gists.' And, the babe is a gisting babe πŸ˜‰

Yeahhh, in as much as I've always wanted to learn the Hausa language (general language of the Nigerian northerners), I've never imagined travelling to a Northern state, let alone live in one, but then, here we are (the whole essence of the NYSC scheme I must say; cultural integration). And I noticed somethings (P.S: these are just my conclusions, my opinion, I can be wrong...)
Maybe I'll break this writeup after all so we don't bug ourselves...

...to be continued...
...I'm still me, EyilZ

A New Dawn Is Here

Hyhyhy! Hello lovelies. So I've had this page on for, 3 years now right? And it's been idle ever since. I agree, I've been lazy, giving the poor state of my phone for an excuse. I must tell you I'm still using the phone, lol. So, I want to get the page active again, you know this fire refueled. But then, I need our encouragements. Please drop your comments on articles dropped and make sure to refer them to your friends and friends. We don't do enemies right? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Although, there might be a little edition in the page title, or should I say diversion in contents. Actually, it was me all crazy about poems when setting up the page, but then, growth comes with a new kind of focus and determination you know. So we will be having more of gender activism, not just narrowed down to feminism, but also treating the few cases of male child abuse as they come in focus, God helping me. Maybe a few poems or motivations at times, and of course, we continually bring ourselves ...

Virginity is really no biggie afterall; it isn't the icing, let alone the cake πŸ’πŸ’

...since I already took permission to 'just write' and I believe I've been granted the permit (read my apologies - previous post, for better understanding), LET'S DIG! YAY!!!πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ As I was saying, virginity or abstinence is really no biggie you know? Hold up, sip water, I'll break it down, let's journey... (Errm, so I realize some of my audience aren't just Nigerians, let alone Yorubas, but please try and follow, I'll make sure not to lose you πŸ’–πŸ’– I'll be making a few references to Yorubas. Some might even be similar to what you have around you...) ...so, I know some Yoruba gods and goddesses demand their worship done (or sacrifices carried) by just virgins just because these gods love purity. So, to start with, I'll say virginity is more about consecration. Did you know occultists demand 'virginity' in order to keep their powers safe and intact; potent. This time, more of abstinence or they are said to have committed a sacrile...

What exactly defines manhood?

Hello! Welcome back 😊 So, earlier this month, I was having an outpour of anger on one of my social media accounts, my WhatsApp status to be precise, so much that a friend had to call me to check, saying I'm a borderline sexist. Lol! You can imagine how much I vexed so much that I was called to check πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ But then, like I later shared with another friend, I was throwing shades on the menfolk 'cos of younger men. Imagine a father, one of those 'I'm the man' diehards; he wouldn't mind going naked so you know he is masculine, pff! A widower! You wouldn't want to imagine how much he squanders his wife's investments after her demise. This same woman was the breadwinner of the family while alive, doing everything to give her family the best, not excluding her husband, still... Now, even at her death, he couldn't hold up for 6months. The children are thrown out of school. He's after asses... Lots to his credit. But he's the man! And the wife...
