...yeah, to next...
Errr, a lil something to say. Lol. So I went to camp with this two weeks old hair I already got tired of. It's a Ghana weaving, a style I've been fantasizing for over 6 months, but I'm surprisingly tired of. Why? Well, the hairdresser... There's this thing, I'm kinda hard to satisfy with hair, so, I make hair very often. And on those few occasions, I make sure I have enough cash that'll give me my heart desire, hair wise... So, I bought enough hair extensions and all. Alas! My regular hairdresser has changed location, so I couldn't possibly get her to make this fine hair for me (my graduation hair 😭😭😭😭😭). So, an alternative right? Well, this woman is good too, but over economizes 🙄 She used lesser hair extension in particular, giving a scanty hair as end product; you could see my scalp 😭😭 So much for special hairdo. And then, the hair tip wasn't so neatly made as I love it (do you know I have the least idea of hair making, but I can build castles in the air? 🙄🙄 I'm sorry, but it's just doesn't catch my fancy...) Summary is, I had on me, a hair I wasn't 40% at peace with, and I was going to camp, a new phase of my life with this hair. Camp, where I'll be meeting over one thousand new faces 😒😒 Well, my hair kinda add to my self confidence you know? But then, camp had us wearing face cap compulsorily all through the three weeks, so, to an extent, I was saved 💃💃 While some show off their hair, wanting the military men to scold them into cap wearing, I was super diligent. Only I knew the story behind my diligence 😁😉
To the real deal...
I already told y'all camp is the three weeks training which sets off the whole NYSC thingy. We all know 'camp' right? (I don't know how to go about this formal definition 😑). My camp ground is a Nigerian paramilitary base, so, to a reasonable extent, we had cool reception unlike some camps. Electricity, water, rooms and rest rooms were in above average conditions.
And we had nice and cool military (army) men as instructors (although they threaten to get harsh on us at intervals, but even their harsh was way ahead the niceness of some, so, we'll pass). My own platoon officer for instance was a father. This was my first 'one on one' experience with Nigerian military personnel, and I loved it. Even we told ourselves that we mustn't get used to this (some corp members disregarded the personnels, taking their niceness for granted. What you wouldn't dare on a regular with a random army man). Civil Defense personnel were also on standby (another paramilitary institution in Nigeria). They majorly taught us funny songs and dance steps to lift and liven us before or/and after military trainings. (It was like we were baby military men and women. There were parades and drills to learn. These were presented to the Governor especially on special occasions such as the swearing-in ceremony into the NYSC scheme and also the passing out of camp parade).
Lol. And the mention of parade brought back memories 🤗🤗
