Well, this is really really impromptu (like every other writeup on this page, lol).
Let me start by saying HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to not just those who's given birth but also the prospective fathers out there. And of course, being a father isn't just about 'getting it in, pulling it out, and WOALLA, it's a boy/girl' 🙄🙄 It's way more than that...
So, this page is gonna be about me as a Masculinist (let's accept it as a valid word for the purpose of this blog, thank you 😘😘). The inspiration? Common, it's because today is Father's day. Imagine me not putting anything up for women's or mother's day... Well, iono if it counts as anything tho.
A few seconds more for paparazzi please 😉... This page is dedicated to my popman. Damn, he was and still is a father even after 7 years and 9 months of transition (I miss you man, you're the realest, the best 💕💕). So yes, there are 'MEN' out there. And to the awesome guy friends I've got, thanks for being you, for being different, for being 'MEN' (Areo, Ayanfe...)
Enough of time wasting, this is gonna be real quick, not a full blown writeup yeah?
Generally, when we talk 'rape', the victims are always the weaker female right? And then there's everyone going to their social media handles, throwing shades at all guys, rapists especially, although a few still blame the victim, going 'blame the ones on micro wears, creating images in the rapists' mind', 'blame those who walk alone in dark corners' and all that (we know the blames we try to pass so everyone gets served...) I'll say this real quick, to start with, RAPE IS A CRIME NOT A PUNISHMENT!!! Who's called you to be the judge of indecency anyway? I'm not encouraging it either. Anyways, that ain't really my gist.
...we are all so caught up in our thoughts, 'the girls are the weaker ones and as such, the only ones that can be right?' Even the Nigerian constitution states clearly, except at the FCT, only women rape is rape enough 🙄 It has to be penetration else there's no case huh? And we're all about guys and ego, always 'manning up', keeping shits together and all? Come on!
Even I never really gave it a thought until I saw a guy's rant on fb sometimes ago, talking about how cases of unfairness to guys are treated with levity while we all are queuing behind the girl child, I also claim guilty 🙁 Of course, such cases are rare, 'he's strong enough now, how can a she overpower him', we forget some female will overpower some male, some males are weak/shy, no offences... And the funny thing is, no one would believe the story even when it comes up. Lol, even right now, I'm thinking 'if this is really accepted, won't some guys take it as an opportunity to commit the crime the more, after all, we both have a case and eligible to lawyers.'
But really, I know a few guys are hurting, I read guy write-ups and I deduce this message sometimes, will they remain unheard forever? Trust me, no one has, neither can overgrow the psychological trauma that comes with rape. Sometimes, I think this is why some guys will always be indifferent to rape cases, after all, no one listened when they were the victims (I wanted to write 'it isn't reason enough, but sometimes it is...) Only if this cry and soft mutterings can be heard and looked into...
May all rape victims heal...😞😞
Eyilz!!!
