I CAN NO LONGER GO TO SCHOOL, MY TEACHER IS A MAN...

If you're conversant with my page, you'll know my favourite article, and it seems it's many others' favorite too; the girl who aged faster than her age (judging by reviews). So, yes, then, it was pure fiction, but now, it's so reallllllllll; first hand experience you know...


Yeah, that is the beautiful night picture of my state (I'm still in the far north for my national youth service. Yeah, I got trapped in here despite the pandemic. It's a too long distance from home and flight ticket is quite a fortune for me at the moment). That's was taken yesterday night actually, I was outside the gate, enjoying the bliss and calm that comes with the night. Yeah, not much bustles here, it's more quiet...


HOMEOF PEACE!!!  And it happened that in the midst of this beauty, some culture isn't as beautiful. CHILD MARRIAGE!!!



The culture here is one that really respect/submerge, subvert, silence females. The use of the two contradictory verbs are delibrate. Infact, to me, I see the subversion more than the respect. The only justification of 'respect' I ever get is the fact that 'since women are weaker vessels, they just want to ensure the best for them.' Maybe we MIGHT look into examples of such justifications later...


So, back to child marriage. They marry childbrides out because, well, since the families are poor and they wouldn't want the girl child to suffer or take to begging on the streets or hawking (their justification), they marry them off.

What justification!!! 🙄

So,  there isn't no skill to  train the child in? Oh, I totally forgot they wouldn't even let their females leave the houses for jealousy and overprotectiveness (fathers do no trust their wives, let alone their daughters, let alone husbands).

Y'all just marry these kids off for selfish reasons. Aren't they your investments? You know how much you task prospective husbands and how you make them fend for even you.


What pushed me to writing this article anyway? You should know. I'm a part of an initiative set out to empower childbrides and while chatting with the women and we asked why she stopped attending the religious school after marriage, she said "HER HUSBAND SAID THEIR TEACHER IS A MALE." it got me wondering, is the teacher supposed to be a female? I doubt if I've ever seen or hear of a female cleric even in states that are more liberal to women, let alone one that subvert women 🙄🙄


Just imagine the deceit, the lie, the jealousy. Girls you wouldn't even allow to formal education or who you withdraw when they seem 'marriageable' to you , you also will deny them of the informal education. How is that even fair? You wouldn't even allow them skill empowerment because the moment they are out of your site, you start thinking the next man is eying them. You want them ever dependent on you. They're decorating materials to your houses.


Another thing is, this particular lady got married at age 14!!! And with three kids already. The poor child... 😒 CHILDREN BIRTHING CHILDREN,  CHILDREN WATCHING OUT FOR CHILDREN!!! And the husbands? Older men 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️


One more thing, all through the classes, we were super conscious not to allow the guys on the team move too close to the girls, let alone compliment them. Of course,  they are some peoples' wives and you wouldn't want to lose an arm to a jealous husband. Moreover, we can't take chances: imagine the men withdrawing their wives from a lifetime opportunity to be a little bit self-dependent because they feel the guys on our team will try to take their wives away from them.



...I'm not even done venting... I'm super triggered. Things like these are going on and some will tell you there's no point in feminism while some others will be directing their feminist energies to the wrong course 🙄🙄🙄🙄 (My eyes are so rolling in reality).


Yeah, maybe I'm not or cannot do nothing about it, but then, I'm telling y'all, I'm telling the world about it (there's always the place of information right?) If you can, please influence the needed change, please, it's an heartfelt cry 🙇🏻‍♀️



I should just stop typing already...

What exactly defines manhood?

Hello! Welcome back 😊 So, earlier this month, I was having an outpour of anger on one of my social media accounts, my WhatsApp status to be precise, so much that a friend had to call me to check, saying I'm a borderline sexist. Lol! You can imagine how much I vexed so much that I was called to check 😂😂 But then, like I later shared with another friend, I was throwing shades on the menfolk 'cos of younger men. Imagine a father, one of those 'I'm the man' diehards; he wouldn't mind going naked so you know he is masculine, pff! A widower! You wouldn't want to imagine how much he squanders his wife's investments after her demise. This same woman was the breadwinner of the family while alive, doing everything to give her family the best, not excluding her husband, still... Now, even at her death, he couldn't hold up for 6months. The children are thrown out of school. He's after asses... Lots to his credit. But he's the man! And the wife...
