This can't be more impromptu... So I was going through my WhatsApp stories and I found this. I don't know how true it is (I mean the caption: people paying to use this 'bridge'?) Really? Well, that isn't even the issue. But this individual tagged it 'laughable.' Laughable? More like 'cryable', 'weepable' and whatever synonym that can pass. Anyway, I believe it came as too much shock such that this person was speechless. And of course, we mostly laugh at situations we don't have words for.
This is heart wrenching. And to think I ran into it the same day my beloved country is celebrating 59 years of independence from the colonial overlords.
It's high time we realized this country isn't moving nowhere, no milestone is gonna be achieved if we don't work, first on our mentalities as individuals then together as a united body, only then can feats be achieved. If only these people will together cry to their government. Or maybe pull resources together to fix these bad roads. Oh, sorry, I forgot the majority of people in these affected places (more like the whole of Nigeria) are broke. But the tiniest bit we can afford will go miles; it might even be moral support. Or labour. Why not together get more of these planks to fill the ditch? At least, a temporary solution, then we can think of something permanent. We can't all be about the government. Even those the supposed grassroot government (local government) don't give a damn about us (guess the 'grasses' no longer touch the grounds...)
It's time we the masses do things for ourselves, maybe then they'll get our message. After all, we constitute the majority in the country š And we should stop ditching/'slying' ourselves for some cash that wouldn't even feed the children of those in government for a day. And morale support sure go a long way, trust me...
This was sure super incoherent but then, we'll leave it as it is for now at least...
EyilZ!!!
